Malcolm Edward Smith, 73, of Groves, Texas passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015. Malcolm was born April 9, 1942 in Groves, Texas to George Smith and Nellie Cox Smith. He was a lifelong area resident and retired from the maintenance department of Motiva as an office clerk. Malcolm was a veteran and proudly served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division. Survivors include his son, Mitchell Smith of Groves; two sisters, Gwen Foreman of Groves and Veronica Thomas of Brunswick, GA; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. , Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by the funeral service at 12 noon with Reverend Nick Dignan, pastor of Val Verde Baptist Church officiating.

I have know Malcolm since the late 80s. We both worked at Texaco in PA. He inspired me to get into gun collecting. Been to a lot of gun shows with him. Malcolm was a charter. I though of him as a good friend.

Mitchell, I worked with your Dad for many years mainly when he was a clerk in the E&I Shop at Motiva. He was a lot of fun to be around. May he rest in the Peace of the Lord.
