Marcus Adam Johnson Marcus Adam Johnson, of Groves passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Methodist Hospital in Houston surrounded by his family. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on September 26, 1959 to Adam Johnson and Ethel Mae Nolan Johnson. Marcus was a lifelong area resident and was employed as the Chief Water Operator with the City of Groves for 37 years. He held an "A" license in water treatment. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Groves with Reverend Charles Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Groves. Marcus was a loving husband, father, grandpa and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Mary "Jimmie Lou" Johnson of Groves, mother, Ethel Johnson of Groves, three sons, Casey Lynn Malet of Key West, FL, Marcus Adam Johnson, Jr. of Groves and Kyle Louis Johnson of Conway, AR, two sisters, Penny Jaetzold and husband, Jay of Groves, and Brenda Peveto of Nederland, twin brother, Michael Johnson of Groves, and three grandchildren, Silas Malet, Nolan Malet and Abel Johnson, and mother-in-law, Sonya Malet. Marcus was preceded in death by his father, Adam Johnson, sister, Janis Johnson, and brother, Bart Johnson.

Mark was my best friend. We were running buddies back in the day. We always had so much fun together. He loved his friends and family and always talked about them. Mark i know you are in heaven and surprised by all the people who came to see you. Thats just what kind of person you were. I will truly miss you my friend but will never forget all the good times we had!!!!!!!
