Great memories of Maggie and Jim! Thrifty Nifty was the last of the small time grocery stores in the Groves area! They were two great people who just loved all who visited them, especially the children who would visit the store before school. I can remember all of my children having their own charge account there and every week we would make sure the bill was paid! Going to the store on Saturday morning and being greeted on a first name basis was very special to me. Jim would always have the best and freshes lunch meat. A loaf of rainbow bread and a pound of bologna was my treat for the weekend. They will both be missed by many but they are together now in their little grocery store in heaven!
