Margaret Smith, 87, of Port Neches died Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland with Rev. Brian Johnson officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be from 12 noon to 1:30 PM on Wednesday prior to the service at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland.

A native of Centerville, Louisiana, Mrs. Smith lived in the Port Neches area for 60 years. She retired from Mid-Jefferson Hospital in Nederland as a Dietetic Assistant in the food service. She was a member of the Port Neches VFW, the American Legion in Nederland, and the Eagles in Nederland. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Fowler and her husband Robert of Beauxart Garden; three brothers, Issac Luke of Centerville, Louisiana, Ralph Luke of Lake Worth, Florida, and Farrell Luke of Centerville, Louisiana; sister, Levenia Burns of Brookeville; one granddaughter, Dana Joyce Falcon; and also two nieces, Connie Hale and Donna Rambo.
