Marguerite Pearl Long
June 21, 1935 – April 22, 2022
Ms. Marguerite Long, age 86, of Beaumont, is now in God’s care after passing away on April 22nd, 2022 after a recent illness.
She was born in Amite County, MS on June 21, 1935. Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, John W. Williams and Ary LeonaWilliams, her sister, Wanza Gordon and her brothers, John W. Williams, Jr., Clemon Williams and Melvin Williams.
She is survived by her children, Bridget May and husband Johnny of Beaumont, Tx, Steve Ratcliff of Nederland, Tx and Gary Ratcliff and wife Dawn of Port Neches, Tx. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Austin, Chase and wife Ashleigh, Brandon and wife Taylor, Taylor and wife Jaclyn, Graeson and McKenna, and many great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Marguerite loved her family more than anything else in this world. She is also survived by her longtime roommate and best friend Jackie Engstrom, who was her partner in crime.
Before retiring, Marguerite worked for the Rogers Brothers in Beaumont for over twenty years. She was a longtime member of Cathedral in the Pines (One City Church) in Beaumont.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her nurses and the staff at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont for their dedicated care and kindness to Marguerite and her entire family during her illness. Also, a loving thank you to her great-niece, Brenna Rodriguez, for her love, support and guidance during this very difficult time.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, April 27th from 12-2 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home at 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Tx 77627. A prayer service will follow beginning at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Internment will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches, Tx.
