Mariann Johnson Fells, 89, of Port Neches, Texas passed away on November 6, 2011. She was born September 29, 1922 to Henry and Kathryn Johnson in Minden, Nebraska. She graduated high school in 1940 and then moved to Los Angeles, where she went to work for General Electric. She met G. C. Fells, Jr. during this time, and they married September 20, 1942. They moved to Port Neches in 1946 where she and her husband, opened G.C. Fells Glass and Mirror business. She was a 50 year member of the First United Methodist Church in Port Neches and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Port Neches. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Mariann was preceded in death by her husband, G. C. Fells, Jr., her two sisters, Irene and Naomi and her son, David Fells. She is survived by her two sons, Brad and his wife, Gail of Nederland and Doug of Port Neches; grandchildren, David Jr., Bradley and Gabriel (G.C.) and three great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church PO BOX 277 Port Neches, Texas 77651.

I have enjoyed playing bridge with Mariann for many years. We have shared many good laughs and she always had a good story to tell us. I have appreciated her friendship and will truly miss her.

I met and knew G.C. and Mariann in 1957. She and I were in the same Sunday School class. So for 54 yrs. I knew her as a lovely fine lady. She will be missed by all.
