Marie Annette Scroggins

Marie Annette Scroggins, 53, of Nederland, Texas passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. Annette was born October 7, 1964 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Warren Claude Scroggins and Marie Lozano Scroggins. Annette grew up in East Texas where she enjoyed church and her many great friends. When she got married she moved to the Golden Triangle where she was a resident for 35 years and was a member of Life Church in Port Arthur. She was a registered nurse for 25 years and was employed by Altus Healthcare in Beaumont, Texas. Annette loved the Lord, attending church, singing in the choir and nursing. Her greatest pride and joy were her daughter, son and her beautiful grandbabies. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her grandkids. She said "seeing their smiles was her greatest medicine". She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren Claude Scroggins and Marie Lozano Scroggins, son, James Corey Dorris; and sister, Deborah "Sue Sue" Horton. Survivors include her daughter, Blythe Marie Squires and husband Chad of Nederland; son, Eugene Schauer; sister, Phyllis LaRue of Nacogdoches; brother, W. C. "Dub" Scroggings, Jr. and wife Patricia of Lufkin; grandchildren, Trinity, Callie, and Jaxson Squires, Ellie Anderson, Autumn Dorris, Khayman and Rowan Schauer. A visitation for family and friends will be at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2018 with funeral services to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Life Church, 4600 Jimmy Johnson Blvd., Port Arthur, Texas. Graveside services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Holly Springs Cemetery in Nacogdoches, Texas under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
