Mario Martinez, a cherished member of the Beaumont community, passed away on June 10, 2025. Born on February 12, 1962, in Beaumont, Texas, Mario lived a life marked by dedication, love, and a strong sense of community.
For thirty years, he faithfully served as the Industrial Painter Supervisor for Steel Painters, Inc., where he was a respected figure amongst his peers. His commitment to his craft and his role as a member of the Painters Local in Port Arthur were points of pride in his professional life. In addition to his work at Steel Painters, he embraced entrepreneurship as the owner of CJ Inflatables, a venture that allowed him to bring joy to many.
Mario's true passion lay in the moments spent with his beloved family. He loved engaging in family activities, whether it was playing football or riding four-wheelers, his laughter and spirit enhancing each adventure. These moments were his greatest treasure, and it was within these gatherings that he found his truest joys. He also enjoyed traveling, visiting the beach, and spending time by the ocean, which brought him peace and happiness.
A man of warmth and benevolence, Mario was known for his generosity and kindness, always ready to help those in need. He found enjoyment in the vibrant atmosphere of the casino, where his lively personality shined through. He was a good man whose legacy is etched in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Carolyn Martinez, who remains in Beaumont; his son, Mario Martinez, Jr., also of Beaumont; and his daughter, Elizabeth Martinez, who continues to carry forth his spirit. Mario was a proud grandfather to Lilian Riojas, Lydia Riojas, and Gabriel Riojas, as well as a great-grandfather to Lyanna Sales, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.
Mario was preceded in death by his loving mother, Ophelia Ortiz, and his son, Johnny James. Their memories will forever be intertwined as the family continues to honor and celebrate the legacy of the man they cherished.
The visitation service for Mario Martinez will be held on June 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas 77627, with a Rosary from 7:00 PM. A Mass will be conducted the following day, June 17, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with a graveside service to follow at Memory Gardens in Nederland, Texas.
As family and friends gather to remember Mario Martinez, they will undoubtedly recount tales of his love, laughter, and the indelible mark he left on their lives. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide his loved ones for generations to come.
