Was a shipmate on USCGC Confidence out of Kodiak, Alaska. For both of us it was our first unit out of bootcamp and we shared some rough rides on the Bering Sea, Gulf of Alaska and Northern Pacific.I hadn't seen Marion since 1975 and so in my mind's eye he is still the young man that we all were at that time.It was only in the last couple of months we reconnected via "Coast Guard Land" on the internet and I was able to swap a few messages with an old shipmate from decades ago. I am grateful that happened. God take him and bless his family through the difficulties, loss and grief. I express my condolences and hopes for his family. Be strong and keep faith in God.

MK3 Danna, I miss you and your words of strength. Fair winds and following seas, may forever you feel, upon your cheek, the salty breeze. Your spirit lives on in many a heart, your words captured, and never to depart. May your loved ones have the comfort in knowing, to heaven is where you are going. For all that they have to do is look above, and they will be reminded of your love. ~ We're always ready for the call, We place our trust in Thee. Through surf and storm and howling gale, High shall our purpose be. "Semper Paratus" is our guide, Our fame, our glory, too. To fight to save or fight and die, Aye! Coast Guard we are for you!

Uncle Buddy was a wonderful man. He always had a warm heart and a kind smile. I know that while my heart is heavy with his loss, he is with The Lord and is rejoicing in His light and love. I am just so grateful that I had him in my life.
