Marion Louise “Dolly” Trahan, 86, of Port Neches, Texas passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023, at her residence in Port Neches with her loving family at her side.
Dolly was born on March 22, 1937, in Jeanerette, Louisiana to Louise Kelly Dow and Carroll Dow. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker who loved her family dearly. Dolly was also a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches. She enjoyed taking care of her “pot plants” around the house and always cleaning and taking care of her home she loved dearly. Dolly enjoyed going to the casino with friends and family but her one true love was going dancing with the “Love of her Life”, her husband Bob. She loved family get-together’s and cooking for all the people she loved. Dolly was a special lady and will be missed greatly by all who had the pleasure of meeting her.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-six years, Melvin “Bob” Trahan of Port Neches; children, Martin Trahan, Brian Trahan and his wife JoAnn, Valerie Falcon and her husband Ray and Kelly Novich and her husband Neil all of Port Neches; grandchildren, Tyler Falcon, Nat Trahan, Robert Novich, Rory Novich, Nick Trahan, Emily Parten, Miranda Belk and Maria Dugas; ten great grandchildren, her sister, Elaine Zimmerman and her husband Kerry of Charenton, Louisiana; numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Dolly is preceded in death by her parents, Carroll and Louise Dow; sisters, Carol Fritz and Carolyn Bacon.
A gathering of Family and Friends will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches with burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
Serving as Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Tyler Falcon, Nat Trahan, Robert Novich, Rory Novich, Nick Trahan and Cameron Parten. Honorary Pallbearer will be Emily Parten her granddaughter.
