Marion McPherson, 84, of Nederland, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017 in Beaumont. Marion was born in Van Alstyne, Texas on November 13, 1932 to the late, Elmer Lewis, Sr. and Clara Pearl Rhoades Lewis.

Marion worked for the Nederland Independent School District for 25 years where she served as the cafeteria manager at Hillcrest Elementary School. She was also a dedicated member of First Baptist Church Nederland.

Marion is survived by her daughter, Mickie Emmett and husband, Lane of Port Neches; son, Bruce McPherson, Jr. and wife, Joleain of Nederland; grandchildren, Jolie Williams, Ben McPherson, Jandy Brentlinger and Toni McPherson; great-grandchildren, Isaac Williams, Bryce Brentlinger, Hudson Williams and Beau Brentlinger.

In addition to her parents, Marion is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bruce McPherson, Sr.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation with Rev. Dr. Jason Burden, officiant. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Harbor Hospice in Beaumont for their loving care.

She would always go on about my kids when she was at Hillcrest and just went out of her way to do anything she could to make them feel special.
