Mr. Reese was a gentle and kind man who love God unashamedly, and treasured his family and friends deeply. In the 1950’s my grandparents, Creston and Margaret Shields, were the pastors at the First Assembly of God Church in Port Neches, Texas. My Dad, Gene Shields quickly became friends with Bubba. I’ve heard many stories of mischief and adventures over my life. Then, Mr. Reese was the best man when my dad married our mom, Benetta Wall in 1956. My sister Jeanie (deceased 1999), spent many hours with the Reese family on Sunday afternoons, shared meals, and church activities together. My Dad and Mr. Reese were passionate about Southern Gospel music, and training young boys in Royal Rangers. In recently years, when we’ve visited Mr. Reese, his my mind and spirit were as sharp as ever. He still loved to tell stories and always ended our visits with prayer for Ronnie and I regarding our missionary work around the world! He loved us well! Our hearts are sad to know we will no longer get to visit him this side of heaven. But oh what a great reunion day that will be, when we all get to heaven! 🎈

Bubba and I got to know each other in 1976. I had just gotten into Royal Rangers at Cathedral In The Pines in Beaumont. Bubba taught me in my LTC class and then was a mentor to me from that point on. As I became Sectional Commander of the Beaumont Section, Bubba was the Sectional Training Coordinator and Secretary/Treasurer. We taught many LTC classes together and became great friends that lasted until he gained his heavenly reward. There has not been a greater man than Bubba. His love was teaching boys and men about Christ and to be servants of Christ. He touched and influenced many lives for Christ . That will be his legacy forever. We love you Bubba and will see you again one day. May God grant the family peace, comfort, and strength duing this time.

I absolutely love the Reese family! Bubba and Billie Faye were very instrumental in my early childhood in First Assembly in Port Neches! He made Royal Rangers so fun while he taught us. Billie Faye always made the best casseroles, her lasagna was by far my favorite❣️🙏
