Marjorie “Margie” M. Reaux, 74, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving daughters. Margie has now joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her husband, Cleveland Reaux. Margie was born October 24, 1947 in New Iberia, Louisiana.
Margie was a parishioner of St. Therese, the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church. She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Margie was a big kid at heart and enjoyed playing around with her grandchildren and dressing up for Halloween. Margie enjoyed fishing, sewing and a good cup of coffee. She loved celebrating birthdays and holidays with her family.
Margie was preceded in death by her mother, Inez (Doré) Broussard; her husband, Cleveland Reaux; and brother, Joseph "Willie" Rabeaux and his wife, Linda.
Those left behind to cherish Margie’s memory are her daughters, Michelle Griffith and her husband, Dennis of Port Arthur, TX; Vickie Hanna and her husband, Ronnie of Port Arthur, TX; and Cassie Reaux Sandoval of Port Arthur, TX; grandchildren, Shannon Taylor and her husband, Myles; Trey Sandoval, Aaron Griffith, Zyth Sandoval and Danielle Griffith; great grandchildren, Madison Taylor and Cameron Taylor.
The family of Ms. Margie would like to give a special thank you to Harbor Home Hospice providers, Cherese and Danielle; the staff at Harbor Hospital and lifelong friend, Susie Smith for the love and care they provided to their mother.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m., at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 23, 2022, at St. Therese, the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Rite of Committal will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
Serving as pallbearers for Margie include Trey Sandoval, Zyth Sandoval, Aaron Griffith, Myles Taylor, Mike Rabeaux and Timmy Rabeaux.
