Mark Wayne Alphin

Mark Wayne Alphin, skilled craftsman, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, in Pryor, Oklahoma. Born on June 8, 1960, Mark lived a life marked by dedication, craftsmanship, and an enduring love for people.

Mark’s career spanned three decades at Branch Krachy, where he served with distinction in inside sales of industrial supplies. His commitment and professionalism were hallmarks of his work ethic, earning him respect and admiration throughout his tenure. Retirement from this long-standing position allowed him to devote more time to his cherished hobbies and the loved ones who meant so much to him.

A man of many talents, Mark found great joy in hunting, fishing, and rope crafting, activities that connected him deeply with nature and tradition. He was particularly proud of his exceptional skill in gunsmithing; he could disassemble, reassemble, or even convert any firearm with meticulous expertise. In quieter moments, he enjoyed the thoughtful challenge of puzzles, a testament to his patient and methodical nature.

Mark was known for his warm personality and his love of people. His presence was a source of comfort and joy to family and friends alike, and his generous spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He was a pillar of strength and kindness within his family.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Carol and Patricia Alphin; his grandparents, Steve and Otance Alphin. They remain forever in the hearts of those who remember their legacy through Mark.

Mark is lovingly survived by his brother, Steven Alphin; sister-in-law, Dianne; his nephew, Russell Alphin; his niece, Lauren Ward, and her husband, Stephen; as well as his great-niece and great-nephew, Sam and Addison Ward. Together, they carry forward his memory and the values he held dear.

I have known Mark for 31 years, and it is hard to imagine this world without him in it. After Hurricane Rita forced him to evacuate Nederland, Texas years ago, Mark began coming to our home, and somewhere along the way our back porch became his place of peace. We joked that we deeded the little 8x8 corner of the porch to him because every time he arrived, he headed straight to “his corner.” For years, his incredible Fourth of July fireworks shows lit up not only our home, but skies for neighbors all around us. He loved pond fishing with my husband Joe and always wanted to make sure our freezer stayed full of fish until his next trip back. Mark never came without bringing a project to work on. I was always amazed by his patience and talent for intricate detail work. His love for children was endless. My children quickly began calling him Uncle Mark, and he spoke so proudly and lovingly about his great-niece and great-nephew in Texas. When my husband Joe passed away just a few months ago, Mark was here within hours. He stood beside me and helped give me strength through some of the hardest days of my life. That kindness and loyalty will never be forgotten. Mark left fingerprints on so many lives, and ours was better simply because he was part of it. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always. Fly high Mark. ❤️🙏❤️

Thank you for being our Uncle Mark, we love you so dearly. Every time I want to cry I hear you go, “OH stop that” and then I smile. You will be so missed, but you left your “mark” everywhere. I am so grateful I got to be a part of it. Be good up there, okay? And you better show up and let us all know you’re here in all your ornery ways. Love you big.
