Mark Allen Kavanaugh

Mark Allen Kavanaugh, 71, of Nederland passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at his residence in Nederland with his loving family at his side.

Mark was born on October 24, 1950 in Port Arthur, Texas to Juanita Martinez Kavanaugh and Joseph Kavanaugh. He graduated from Bishop Byrne High School in 1968 and was a member of the Catholic faith. Mark was a retired machinist at Valero. After his retirement, he began teaching certification classes for oil and petro. He loved to hunt and fish; drinking coffee; spending time with his family and friends but mostly he loved riding his Harley Davidson. He was mainly known as a loving husband and father who loved his family dearly.

Survivors include his wife of forty-eight years, Helen Marie Theriot Kavanaugh of Nederland; sons, Aaron Kavanaugh and Jarrod Kavanaugh; brothers, Steve Kavanaugh and Frank Kavanaugh; a number of loving family members and friends. Mark is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Elaina Kavanaugh.

Visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2021, at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland with a service to immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland, Texas.
