Mark Louis Borel, age 44, of Nederland, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 23, 2012, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas after a lengthy illness. He was born on October 1, 1968 in Port Arthur, TX to Sandra Frioux Borel and Donald Borel. After graduating from PNG High School in 1987, he served his country in the United States Air Force as a munitions specialist. Following his service, he was employed as an industrial construction foreman. Mark was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, spending many hours at his special retreat on Hildebrandt Bayou. Although Mark battled a chronic kidney disease for many years, he lived a full and active life surrounded by those he loved. The presence of his absence is everywhere.He is preceded in death by his grandmother Nora Frioux. Mark is survived by his mother Sandra Frioux Borel and Weldon Grice sister, Michelle Borel Forrest, sister, Donna Borel Byars and her husband Mark father, Donald Borel nieces, Kaitlin Forrest and Lauren Byars, nephews, Logan Forrest and Mark Alan Byars grandfather, Rivers Frioux aunt, Lorraine Frioux Fletcher uncle, Rodney Frioux cousins Deanna Fletcher Wilson and husband Andrew and Angie Fletcher Smith and husband Brock and many friends.A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 27, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland with Father Dan Malain celebrant. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be on Monday, November 26, from 5:00 8:00 p.m., with a wake at 7:00 p.m. at Melancons Funeral Home.
