Mark Edward Smith, 64, of Nederland passed away Monday, January 10, 2022, at the Medical Center in Port Arthur, Texas.

Mark was born on September 14, 1957, in Port Arthur to Bobby Daniel “Bob” Smith and Belva Gwendolyn Amos Smith. He was a member of the Memorial Church of Christ and a retired air conditioning repair technician. Mark loved to hunt and fish; enjoyed going to the beach and riding his motorcycle. He had antique motorcycles and was a vintage motorcycle enthusiast. Mark loved his family dearly and will be missed by all of those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Maria Margarita “Margaret” de la Rosa Smith of Nederland; mother, Gwen Smith of Beaumont; step-son, Randy Beresford and his wife Kaycie of Nederland; grandchildren, Mason Beresford and Mya Beresford; brother, Andrew Smith and his wife Susan of Beaumont and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the Memorial Church of Christ located at 2525 Aero Drive; Port Arthur, Texas. Cremation services were handled by Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Mark Smith. I worked out at the refinery that he serviced all the air conditioning in.He was a great guy and would also help any one who needed his help inside are outside of the refinery. I worked with Mark several years at a local refinery and I was always impressed with the effort that Mark showed in his job and personal relations with others.
