Martha Darcey, 92, of Port Neches, TX, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 in Port Arthur, TX. Martha was born on August 24, 1924 in Delcambre, LA, to the late Eraste Segura and Noela Landry Segura. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches, TX and she was retired from PNGISD cafeteria.

Martha is survived by her son, Wayne Darcey of Port Neches; son-in-law, Allen Badeaux of New Iberia, LA; granddaughter, Lindsay Darcey of Nederland, TX; grandsons, Jeremy Gentile of Winnie, TX, Jeromy Lormand of Las Vegas, NV and Mike Badeaux of New Iberia, LA; 5 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Freddie Darcey and daughter, Judy Badeaux.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Christian Vigil at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Ivan Watson, officiant at Melancon’s Funeral Home, located at 1605 Avenue H in Nederland, TX. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches, TX with the Rev. Shane Baxter, Celebrant. The interment will be at Oak Bluff Cemetery in Port Neches, TX.

Martha was the "matriarch, teacher, leader, and advisor" of our Bourre' card games on Thursday. She was the first one to catch a misplayed card, and with a laugh would try to instill in us the correct way to play. She always loved the game, and I feel she loved all of us players. She will be truly missed by many.
