Martha "Lucille" Dean (Nanny) Lucille Dean, age 100 of Port Arthur, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2011. She was born in Dallas on April 28, 1911 to Robert and Mary Lucinda Strange. Lucille was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and a member of the United Methodist Temple. She was retired from Texaco Island as a PBX operator after 30 years of service. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the United Methodist Temple in Port Arthur with Reverend Jesse Brannen officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Lucille is survived by her son, Robert Dean and wife, Barbara of Anahuac, daughter, Juanita Benoit Lee and husband, Robert of Port Arthur; four grandchildren, Tessy Cryer and husband, Greg, Joe Dean and wife, Brenda, Tina Gillespie and husband, Kirk and Rusty Benoit, six great grandchildren, Lacey Simon and husband, James, Mindy Hickman and husband, Kevin, Tommy Gillespie, Tara Gillespie, Jesse Benoit and Jake Benoit; one great great granddaughter, Sophia Simon; and many nieces and nephews who lovingly called her "Aunty." She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Wendy Dean and three brothers, Robert, Bill, and Jack Strange.
