Martha “Marty” Jeanne Bisett Myer, age 86, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Lake Arthur Place in Port Arthur. She was born on November 26, 1928 in Dallas to the late Edward Walter Bisett and Amy Jeanne Stilson. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches and a homemaker.

Marty is survived by her husband, John Myer of Port Arthur; sons, Ed. V. Myer and his wife, Shirley of Nederland, Mark D. Myer and his wife, Patricia of Livingston, Timothy T. Myer and his wife, Nancy of Groves, Philip D. Myer of Missouri, and Matthew G. Myer and his wife, Loreta of Pflugerville; daughter, Kristine Cortez and her husband, Jorge of Orange; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Greg Thomas, Steve Thomas, Robert Thomas, Jeanne Thomas, and Joanie Thomas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Shane Baxter celebrant. A gathering of the family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil and K.C. Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m.
