Martha Wilma Richards, passed away at home October 7, 2014 at 87 years of age. She was born August 20, 1927 in Pensacola, Florida, her mother was Wilma Van Pelt Morton, who died in childbirth, and her father was Thomas B. Morton. Martha was raised as a child in the family of Harry and Aunt Elsie Morton Adams. Martha finished high school at Pensacola High and worked as a secretary for a paper mill. Martha married Clarence W. Richards on September 6, 1947 in Pensacola, FL and became a homemaker. They had three daughters now married with families: Kathe Wilma and husband John Buhr of Lakewood, CO, Celia Ann and husband Bob Heathman of Austin, TX, and Linda Ruth and husband Charles Dunnam of Birmingham, AL. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Claude Adams; and sister Harriet Longley. Surviving family are her husband of 67 years, Clarence; daughters and their spouses as well as seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Church in Port Arthur with visitation to begin at 10:30 a.m.
