Marvin Raye Dement, 87, of Beaumont, Texas passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Calder Woods Assisted Living in Beaumont, Texas. Marvin was born April 30, 1932 in Port Arthur, Texas to Fred Dement and Mattie Stanley Dement. He was a lifelong area resident and member of Groves First United Methodist Church. Marvin retired from Gulf/Chevron as a lab technician with 36 years of service. He was member of the Commadores and the Local OCAW Union. Marvin proudly served in the U. S. Navy. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Shirley Dement of Beaumont; daughter, Brooks Cima and husband Dennis of League City; son, Mark Dement and wife Jovita of LaBelle; brother, Bruce Dement and wife Helen of Roanoke; and four grandchildren, Mindy, Erin, Derick, and Caitlin; seven great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Jack, Josie, Joaquin, Tallulah, Winnie, and Lee. A visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 24, 2020 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by a military graveside service at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. My deepest condolences to the family. Marvin was a wonderful neighbor. Every time we would see him outside, he always said hello. I remember growing up he would give my sister and I a hibiscus flower from his garden. He was such a sweet man, may his soul Rest In Peace.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr Dement was my lead driver when I was over the fleet department at Triangle Chevrolet with Jim Wise. He was the sweetest man and always laughing. He will be greatly missed

Sorry for your loss. I will keep you in my prayers. I worked with Marvin in the lab for a few years, he became a friend. I always enjoyed working with him and also being with him at the union hall, He was a good man and he will be missed.
