Marvis Loye Blackburn

Marvis Loye Blackburn, 84, of Port Arthur, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Gilberts Assisted Living in Beaumont.

Graveside Service will be 11:00 am., Friday, October 21, 2022, at Baker Bell Cemetery in Fred, Texas.

Marvis was born in Port Arthur, Texas, on December 31, 1937, she was the daughter of Ellis Britten Bell and Maybel Morris Bell. She retired as a Teacher for Port Arthur Independent School District after many years. She was a member of Memorial Church of Christ in Port Arthur. During her free time, she loved to travel and read as well as teaching the Latin and English language.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Blackburn.

She is survived by her sons, Jean-Louis Blackburn, and his wife Fatima of California; Paul Blackburn and his wife Tania of Fred, TX; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister, Dixie Holik of Fred, TX; brother, Melvin Bell and his wife Jewel of Fred, TX, Ted Bell of Denver, Colorado.
