Mary Beth Whitehead Alford, 84, of Nederland, Texas joined her Lord and Savior Sunday, February 26, 2023. Mary Beth was born September 28, 1938 in Pineland, Texas to Dallas and Velma Whitehead.
Mary Beth was a member of Pineland Church of Christ. She enjoyed the simple farming life and watching things grow in the garden. She loved working with her hands! Mary Beth enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved people, animals and above all she loved God!
Mary Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas Langston Whitehead and Velma Lee (Clark) Whitehead; brother, Royce Joe Whitehead; sisters, Donna Lee Jones, Bobbie Lucille Kirkland and Joyce Marie Whitehead; daughter, Carol Lynn Alford Salles; grandson, Jeremy Michael Martinez.
Those left behind to cherish Mary Beth’s memory are her daughters, Patsy Beth Lynch and her husband, Morris Edward “Dude” of Nederland, Texas; Sherry Ann Mullins and her husband, Rob of Nederland, Texas; grandchildren, Toni Michelle Thibodeaux, Shaine Gordon Campbell, Keely Lynn Campbell, Aaron William Welch, Meagan Rachelle Burrell and her husband, Corey; Mary Bethalynn Mullins, Kim Tucker and her husband, Troy; Lanie Furlough and her husband, Chris; Morris Edward “Dude Jr” Lynch and his wife, Sharron. Mary Beth is also survived by great grandchildren, Jasmine Martinez, Jaelyn Thibodeaux, Levi Martinez, Legend Martinez, Andrea Garcia, Doug Sartin, III, Owen Tucker, Weldon Tucker, Caleb Furlough, Chase Furlough, Andy Furlough, Slade Lynch, Rylee Guyote, Logan Burrell, Lainee Burrell, Liam Burrell; great-great grandchild, Michael Anthony Martinez.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. A Celebration of Mary Beth’s Life will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m., at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pineland, Texas.
