Mary Lee Terrell Blackwell, 84 of Bridge City, Texas passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Harbor Hospital in Beaumont. Mary was born on October 25, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas to Racine and James Terrell. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1947 and attended one year of Junior College. She moved to Port Arthur in 1948 and then to Bridge City in 1961 where she and Clydie raised their family, which was, one of their greatest accomplishments. Mary retired from Bridge City ISD as manager of the Junior High Cafeteria after 30 years of service. Mary loved her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were her greatest joy and worry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clydie Eugene Blackwell of 50 wonderful years; brother, Henry Terrell; sisters, Jimmie Lou Ensign, Billie Shoemake and Joyce Thomas; son-in-law, Norman LaFleur; and great-granddaughter, Jules Sunderland. Survivors include her brother, Clarence Terrell and wife Raylene; daughters, Pam LaFleur, Brenda Miller and husband Ron, Karen Eggers and husband Marshall, and Vicki Raquet and husband Brad; five grandchildren, Chad Freeman, Carl Miller, Ronda Sunderland and husband Daniel, Terrell Eggers and wife Lauren, and Rebecca Grimes and husband DeWayne; five great-grandchildren, Mia, Dayne, Hunter, Claire, Marshall and soon to be arriving Adyn; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Buddy Evans and Reverend Terrell Eggers officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Bridge City. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday evening from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
