Mary N. Briggs, 69, of Groves, Texas passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017. Mary was born February 1, 1947 in Splendora, Texas to Eddie Warren and Lillie Buesing Warren. She was a lifelong area resident and retired from CBI as a journeyman carpenter after many years of service. Mary was the first Madam President of Port Neches Eagles Lodge. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy McCollough. Survivors include her husband, Jeff Briggs of Groves; daughter, Doylene Gaines and Jennifer Beard of Groves; sons, DeWayne McCollough and his wife Charlotte of Nederland, Jason Briggs and his wife Elisha of Kirbyville, Jacob Briggs and his wife Stacy of Groves, Jeremy Briggs and his wife Elaine of Wooster, Ohio, Jed Morgan Briggs of Wooster, Ohio; brothers, Kenneth Hood and his wife Barbara of Beaumont, Archie Hood and his wife Janet of Call, and Willie Gene Warren of Spurger; twenty grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday January 12, 2017 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
