Mary Vernell Byers, 83, of Spring, Texas formerly of Nederland, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at her residence in Spring.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 17, 2021, at Levingston Home in Port Neches. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 17, 2021 at the funeral home.

Born in Nederland, Texas, on August 24, 1938, she was the daughter of Charles Boudreaux and Nellie Landry Boudreaux.

Mary lived in Nederland, Texas before moving to Spring, Texas two years ago.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Byers; grandchildren, Shauna Craymer and Brandi Michelle Byers; sisters, Bernice Self, Helen Wiley, Dorothy Vincent, Mable Woods, Jenell Kirkland, and Ruth Trahan; brother, Ervin Boudreaux.

She is survived by her husband, James Byers of Spring, Texas; son, Troy Byers and wife Susie of Spring, Texas; grandchildren, Ashley Ann Byers and Lexi Shay Byers; great-grandchildren, Brittney Craymer, Robbie Craymer, Ryker Richard, and Remi Richard.

Vernell was always so kind and sweet to me, and to my kids. She made sure that my kids weren’t bored when we would visit and sent James to the store to buy something for each of them when we first met her 4-5 years ago. I wish we had more time with her. I wish James, Troy and the rest of the family peace knowing that she has seen the face of Jesus and one day we all will see her again, happy and completely healed.
