Mary Claudine Cox
Claudine Cox, 100, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at The Medical Center of SETX in Port Arthur.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
Claudine was born in Horatio, Arkansas, on April 14, 1923, to Claud James and Elizabeth Fowler-James. She worked as a Secretary at First United Methodist Church in Groves for twenty-five years. She was a member of The Methodist Temple Church. During her free time you could find her doing cross stitch, gardening, and reading. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-seven years, N.W. Cox, and her siblings.
She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Smith of South Carolina, and Bettye Johnston and husband Wayne of Port Arthur, TX; two sons, James Cox and wife Frances of Port Neches, TX, and Richard Cox and wife Mary of Groves, TX; seven grandchildren, Stephen Johnston, and wife Robin; Christi Gantz and husband Chris, Bridgitte Cox, Brian Cox and wife Amanda, James Cox II and wife Jamila, Tyler Cox and wife Caitlyn, and Jennifer Achkar and husband Jimmy; also eleven great-grandchildren, Emily Gentz, Madison Gentz, Danny Iles, Chris Iles, Alexander Achkar, Nicholas Achkar, Caroline Cox, Brayden Cox, Addison Cox, Easton Cox and Paisley Cox.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The American Heart Association or charity of choice.
