Mary Jane Eastburn

1936 ∼ 2025

Mary Jane Eastburn, a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, was born on January 16, 1936, in Mobile, Alabama. She peacefully departed this world on July 14, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unity that many will forever hold dear.

A proud graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School, Mary Jane devoted her career to serving others, working for several years with Texas State Optical. However, her true calling blossomed in the warmth of her home where she excelled as a dedicated homemaker, effortlessly creating an inviting environment for all who entered. Mary Jane had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome, fostering connections that strengthened the bonds of family and friendship.

Deeply involved with the Immaculate Conception Church, Mary Jane’s spirited personality and unwavering faith illuminated the lives of those around her. Her contributions to her community were marked not only by her service but also by the profound love and care she bestowed upon her family and friends.

Mary Jane is survived by her loving daughters, Colleen Hutchins and her husband, Robert of Broussard, Louisiana, and Maxine Gibson of Groves. She took great pride in her grandchildren, Jason Gibson, Aaron Gibson and his wife, Savannah, and Janaye Boyd and her husband, Michael. Her heart swelled with joy for her great-grandchildren: Luke McDonald, Corlen Gibson, Riley Boyd, Colton Gibson, Jack Boyd, and Charlie Boyd. She is also survived by her granddaughter-in-law, Shanley McDonald, and her brother, John Burton, Jr. and his wife, Sherri of Bridge City. She leaves behind treasured memories with her nephews, Joe Thibodeaux and his wife, Carmen, and John Burton and his wife, Crystal, as well as her nieces, Shana Burt and her husband, Dylan, and Kristi Dourian. A dear friend to many, she will be missed by her close companion, Darrel Grudier and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 43 years, Richard Eastburn, her beloved grandson, Jared McDonald, her son-in-law, Bryan Gibson, and her sister and brother-in-law, Ann and J.P. Thibodeaux.

Mary Jane's proudest accomplishment in life was in the care of her family and friends, a role she fulfilled with grace and dedication. Her vibrant spirit and loving heart will continue to resonate within the lives she touched.

Visitation will be held on July 18, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 5601 39th Street, Groves, Texas 77619. Mary Jane Eastburn's remarkable life will be remembered with love and admiration, by all whose lives she enriched.
