Mary Helen Harrison

Mary Helen Harrison, a devoted wife and mother, , and loved by all who met her, passed away on February 27, 2026, at the age of 101 in Beaumont, Texas. Born on November 5, 1924, in Hickman County, Tennessee, she graced the lives of many with her unwavering faith and loving spirit.

A proud homemaker, Mary was a faithful Christian and a member of the Church of Christ in Port Neches, where she was admired for her compassionate nature and deep commitment to her Christian values. She spent her days nurturing her family and engaging with the community, always keeping her loved ones in her prayers. Her gentle spirit was known and appreciated by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mary found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She cherished reading her Bible, admiring beautiful flowers, and finding peace in watching birds and breathtaking sunsets.

Mary’s proudest accomplishments included her devoted marriage of 60 years to her beloved husband, Percy Warner Harrison, who preceded her in death. Together, they shared a sweet love that inspired all who witnessed it. As a mother, she embodied devotion and love, raising her daughter, Sheila Harrison, with kindness and unwavering support.

Mary’s memory lives on through her loving family, including her cherished daughter, Sheila, as well as her nephews: Ron Ballard, Lynward Stinson, Preston Thompson, Danny Harrison, Dale Harrison, and Tommy Harrison. Her nieces—Amy Matney, Elaine Stoops (Buddy), Beverly Ann Wolfenden Nollner, and Jerrie Dalton—also held a special place in her heart. Additionally, she leaves behind two dear friends, affectionately known as her “two angels,” Sheila Dupree and Belinda Breaux, who brought her much joy.

Mary’s warmth extended beyond her family to her dedicated hospice care team, Nathan Fleetwood, Ashlea Curtice, Susan McCombs, and Jessette Castro, who provided her with compassionate care in her final days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Lawrence and Addie Pearl Ballard, her husband Percy, and her siblings: Lillian Stinson, Rhea Ballard, Elsie Wolfenden, Imogene Ballard, Don Ballard, Carl Ballard, and Ronnie Ballard.

As we celebrate the life of Mary Helen Harrison, we honor her legacy of love, faith, and kindness. She will be dearly missed but remembered forever in the hearts of those she touched.

May she forever rest in peace and joy, and walk in beauty with Our Lord.
