Mary Ann Kenton, 95, formerly of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Monday, August 26, 2019 at Brookdale Nursing Home in Lakeway, Texas. Mary Ann was born June 6, 1924 in Port Arthur, Texas to Peter Cammareri and Sara Battaglia Cammareri. She was a lifelong Port Arthur resident until moving to Austin 12 years ago. She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and Port Arthur College. Mary Ann retired after 26 years of service with the City of Port Arthur as a secretary for the purchasing and planning department. Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte Elliot Layne and husband Robert Allen Layne of Austin; grandchildren, Monique Elliott Steudtner, Sandy Elliot Damisch, Aaron Dusatko, and Harmony Layne Wiest. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory J. Elliot, Sr., and second husband, Roy Kenton; sons, Emory James Elliot, Emory Joseph Elliot, Jr., and Michael James Elliot; sisters, Lena Cammareri Merendino, Annie Cammareri Pitzulo, and Rose Cammareri Hebert; brothers, Sam Cammareri, Tony Cammareri, and Leon Cammareri. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 30, 2019 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend J. C. Coon officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
