Mary Alva LaBorde

Mary Alva LaBorde, 101, formerly of Groves, Texas died Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Alterra Sterling House in Temple, Texas. Mary was born January 12, 1909 in Vinton, Louisiana to Issac Sidney Caruthers and Minnie Bell Case Caruthers. She was a resident of Groves for 60 years before moving to Temple 20 years ago. She was a homemaker and member of Groves Chapter #953 Order of Eastern Star. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 15, 2010 at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Reverend Hershel Frazier officiating under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian LaBorde; son, Bobby Lee LaBorde, Sr.; son-in-law, Johnny Robert Williams, Jr.; sister, Agnes Smith; brothers, Sidney Caruthers, Ervin Caruthers, Lynn Caruthers, and Morris Caruthers. Survivors include her daughter, Jean Williams Morelock and husband, Larry of Belton, TX; daughter-in-law, Rose Mary LaBorde of Nacogdoches, TX; three grandchildren, Bobby Lee LaBorde, Jr. of Dallas, TX, Dana Williams Nowak and husband, Frank of Austin, TX, Jason Robert Williams and wife, Jennifer of Providence Ford, VA; two great-grandchildren, Kaden Nowak and Beckett Nowak both of Austin, TX; and niece, Ruby Frazier.

Jeannie, your Mom was simply great. I enjoyed every minute I spent with y'all. There are too many memories to list here, but I have told a lot of them to my kids and grandkids. They know her from me. Love to you, Catherine
