Mary Ann LaLonde Jones, 88, of Nederland, Texas passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2024, in Port Arthur, Texas. Born on January 24, 1936, in Arnaudville, Louisiana, she dedicated over 40 years of her life as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, serving various doctors in the area. Her compassion for others was evident not only in her professional endeavors but also in every aspect of her personal life.
Mary Ann was a remarkable cook, and gatherings at her home during Christmas became cherished traditions for her family and friends. Her ability to bring people together through food and hospitality was one of her greatest joys. In her younger days, she and her husband actively participated in the Jaycees, reflecting her vibrant spirit and commitment to community service.
A Christian at heart, Mary Ann treasured her family, and the time spent with them. She loved to dance and had a deep appreciation for collecting Christmas ornaments and Angels, reflecting her cheerful and festive nature.
She is survived by her son, Todd Hollier and his wife Delores "D.D." of Lumberton, Texas; her daughter, Vicki Callaway and her husband Robert of Nederland, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; her brother, Leon LaLonde, Jr. and wife Martha of Hammond, Louisiana; along with her sisters, Virginia Reece and husband Larry of Port Neches, Texas, and Joanna Jackson and husband Bobby of Pride, Louisiana.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Louisa (Schexnayder) LaLonde and Leon LaLonde; her brother, Michael James LaLonde; and her son, Clint Alton Hollier.
Mary Ann LaLonde Jones will be fondly remembered for her kindness, passion for cooking, and profound love for her family.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Mary Ann's Life to begin at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland located at 1605 Avenue H. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
