Mary Laverne Wilson

Mary Laverne Wilson, 81, of Nederland, TX passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011, at Cypress Glen Nursing Home. She was born on February 8, 1930 in Weirgate, Texas to the late Winifred and Evelyn Whitman. Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nederland and graduated from Nederland High School where she was the drum major. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Hollis O. Wilson of Nederland her daughter, Melanie Rien and husband, Dave of Houston daughter, Kimberly Bernard and husband, John of Bridge City and son, Kent Wilson and wife, Molly of Nederland five grandchildren: Jennifer Butler, Chris Rien, Morgan Walston, Jamie Campbell, and Ryan Wilson four greatgrandchildren: Brianna Mason, John Mason, Teri Duhon, and Avy Campbell sistersinlaw, Mozell Whitman and Louise Eberhardt and brotherinlaw, Kenneth Breaux, Jr.Funeral services will be held at Melancon39s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2012, Rev. Dr. Jason Burden officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, January 1, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.The following relatives will be pallbearers: Kent Wilson, John Bernard, Chris Rien, Ryan Wilson, Rob Whitman, and Chad Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be: Dave Rien and Chris Butler.The family wishes to thank Cypress Glen nurses, aids, and staff and Altus Hospice nurses for the care given to Mary.

Mary was one of the kindest, and most thoughtful people I have ever known. She was one of my favorite people. I can still see her beautiful smile etched in my mind. She will be missed by many. Now she is in Heaven with Our Lord, young, beautiful and healthy again. May you Rest in Peace sweet Mary.
