Mary Patino

1933 ∼ 2014

Mary Patino, 80, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away Friday, February 28, 2014, at ICON Hospital in Humble, Texas. Mary was born May 3, 1933, in Grand Cayman to Henry and Verona Jackson. She was the youngest of five children. She moved to Port Arthur when she was 19 years old, later taking her first job at the Sabine Theatre where her love of the movies stayed with her all of her life. On April 30, 1954, she married Arnulfo "Pat" Patino, and later had four children. She was a devoted Christian, mother and wife, who loved to sew, crochet, read, cook, bake, sing, and laugh. Besides raising her children, she also at times was a career woman who worked alongside her husband in their first business, The Patino International Trade Co. She was a wonderful grandmother who helped take care of several grandchildren over the years. She was so loved and will be missed terribly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur with Reverend T. R. Blanco officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with a wake service to begin at 7:00 p.m. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnulfo "Pat" Patino, her grandmother Mary Jane Coe, her father Henry Jackson, her mother Verona Jackson, her brothers Henry Norman Jackson, Lawrence Jackson, Paul Jackson, and sister Verona Elizabeth "Bess" Ebanks. Survivors include her four children; daughters, Brenda Aleman and husband David Aleman of Atascocita, TX, Patricia "Trish" Langfitt and husband Tim Langfitt of Napa, CA, Gina Jorgensen and husband Richard Jorgensen of The Woodlands, TX, and son, Alan Patino and daughter-in-law Tammy Patino of Grand Cayman; grandchildren, Jason Patino, Victoria Aleman, Christina Aleman, Alaina Patino, David Aleman, Taylor Langfitt, Tori Langfitt, Spencer Jorgensen, Alyssa Jorgensen, and Caroline Jorgensen; great-grandchildren Kyle, Braden & Reagan Patino; as well as additional relatives, friends and loved ones.

Our sincere condolences to her family. Mary was a pleasure to see anytime she visited Cayman as she always made a point to see as many of her family as was possible whenever she was on Island. May her soul rest in peace. Hartmann & Jeannie

Gina...I am so sorry to hear about your Mother. She was such a kind and wonderful person. She would come in our store and we enjoyed her visits. I hope to see you at the visitation. If not, please know I am praying for you and the rest of your family.
