Mary Jean Rice

Mary Jean Rice, 67, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Mary was born January 4, 1946 in Hemphill, Texas to Clifton Andrew Rice and Helen Irene Rushing Rice Ener. She was resident of Lufkin, Texas for 40 years before moving to this area 6 years ago. She worked as a benefits administrator for Texas Foundry. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tanya Cunningham. Survivors include three sisters, Betty Stratton of Port Arthur, Ruth Gaspard and husband J. R. of Lufkin, Angie Locke and husband Steve of Lufkin; two brothers, Bill Ener of New Caney, Greg Ener and wife Tammy of Lufkin; granddaughter, Abigail Wissinger; and great-granddaughter, Chloe Wissinger. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Dr. Rick Erwin pastor of Procter Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
