Mary Elizabeth Joeris Roberts, 83, of Groves Texas passed away peacefully at her residence Saturday April 30, 2016. Born on June 11, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas to Joe W. and Bernice Joeris. After graduating from Our Lady of the Lake College with a science degree in Dietetics. She performed her internship in California and then moved to Galveston to work at the Marine Hospital. That is where she met her husband of 60 years, Harry T. Roberts. After marriage they resided in Groves, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Joe W. Joeris Jr., daughters Deborah Henderson and Carolyn Guidry. Survivors include her husband, Harry Roberts; sister, Sarah Alcorn of Virginia; sons, Michael Roberts and wife Lori Roberts of Port Neches, TX, Douglas Roberts of Austin, TX; son- in-laws, Terry Guidry and Ron Henderson; granddaughter, Leianne Guidry of Richmond, TX; grandsons, Brandon Roberts and wife Heather of Groves TX, Blaine Roberts and wife Breah of Groves, TX; great-grandchildren, Landon Roberts, Sonja Roberts, Victoria Roberts and Hadley Roberts; many nieces, nephews and close friends. A visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston, TX.

Rest in peace Aunt Mary - I will never forget your wonderful hospitality to your North Carolina in-laws on many trips to Texas from NC. My mother adored her brother "Dick" and his lovely wife Mary.

I am saddened for this loss. I heard many amazing things about Mary, through Doug. I wanted to meet her one day, but I never got the chance. Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your Mother/Wife.

The strongest woman I've ever known. She was a beautiful, generous, independent, poised woman who taught me many things. I'm so blessed to have known her. Rest in peace Maw Maw (Grandma)

I never knew or even met Mrs. Roberts, but I went to school with her daughter Carolyn. If Carolyn was a reflection of her mother, Mrs. Roberts was truly a wonderful woman. God's peace to all the family.
