Mary Tanner, 94, of Groves, Texas passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas. Mary was born February 27, 1921 in Turner, Michigan to Martin and Susie Stanek. She was a resident of Groves for 30 years and member of West Groves Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Tanner. Survivors include two daughters, Amy Burnette of Groves, TX, Mary Dickens and husband Larry of College Station, TX; one son, Larry Tanner and wife Linda of Honea Path, SC; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2015 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Mr. Larry Dickens officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday evening from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
