Max Henry Frieling, Jr., 70, of Nederland, Texas passed away February 10, 2021. He was born in Houston, Texas on June 7, 1950 to the late Max Henry Frieling, Sr. and Ruth Spoone Frieling. He served his country proudly in the U. S. Coast Guard and was a police officer for the Port Arthur Police Department for 27 years. Max was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 797, a 50-year member of the American Legion Post 7, and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 3743.
Those left to cherish Max’s memory are his wife of 17 years, Lindsey Harper Frieling of Nederland; his daughters, Tania Chambers and her husband Jason of Virginia, Cathy Broussard and her husband Jody of Nederland, and Sarah Picou and her husband R.C. of Port Acres; his step-daughter, Erin Walker of Houston; his grandchildren, Nathan Chambers, Claire Broussard, Cole Broussard, Josie Broussard, Austin Picou, Haleigh Picou, Jacob Picou, and Mathew Picou; his step-grandchildren, Matthew Taylor, Malachi Taylor, and Sarah Taylor. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Darlene Frieling and Cathy Jennische; his step-daughter, Tina Benjamin; and his step-grandchildren, DJ Barbosa, Dylan Barbosa, and Hannah Barbosa.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, February 19, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00p.m. with a funeral service being held at 12:00 p.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
