Max Laird, 78, of Groves, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in Port Arthur. Max was born August 28, 1936 in Port Arthur to the late Andrew and Versey Myers Laird. Max was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and Groves area and retired self-employed Broker with Max Laird Insurance Agency with 55 years of service.
A gathering of Max’s family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm Thursday at Melancon’s Funeral in Nederland, with private burial in Austin, Texas.
Max is survived by his wife Pamela Laird of Groves; three daughters, Jackie Garcia and her husband, Glenn of Beaumont, Jody Armentor and her husband, Audy of Huntsville, and Dawn Crouch and her husband, Greg of Austin; two brothers, Glenn Laird and his wife, Jennifer of Port Acres, and George Laird and his wife, Brenda of Pearland; Max had 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
