Max Allen Odom

Max Allen Odom, 82, of Groves, Texas passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020. Max was born June 5, 1937 in Noble, Louisiana to James Darrell Odom, Sr. and Alma Webb Odom. He was a lifelong area resident and member of First United Methodist Church of Port Neches. Max was retired from Gulf Port Shipyard as an electrician after 15 years of service. He was a veteran and proudly served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Phyllis Odom of Groves; daughter, Rhonda Smith and husband Frank of Groves; son, Steve Odom of Austin; sister, Patsy Goudeau of Groves; brother, Joe Odom and wife Ruth of Nederland; four grandchildren, Stephanie Andrews and husband Ed, Michael Smith, Courtney Celusta and husband Dalton, and Max "Camp" Odom; four great-grandchildren, Ed Andrews, Devon Andrews, Evangeline "Evie" Andrews, and Jaxon Andrews. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2020 at First United Methodist Church of Port Neches followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Curtis Matthys officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home of Groves.
