Maxine B. Collier, 90, of Port Neches, Texas passed away December 15, 2019. She was born in Hicksbourg, Texas on August 1, 1929 to the late Mack Baker and Bertie Estella Molder Baker. Maxine loved sewing and quilting. She was always happy and loved to take care of others. Maxine was a people watcher, she loved just sitting and watching people as they walked by when she was shopping.
Those left to cherish Maxine’s memory are her children, Farris Collier of Port Neches and Kathy Collier Graves and Skeeter of Port Neches; her grandchildren, Glenda Methein and her husband Steve of Connecticut, Sabrina Savoy and her husband Brian of North Carolina, William “Billy” Edgar and his wife Crystal of Groves, Carmen Douglas of Beaumont, Kristen Henley of Lufkin, Rachel Dollison of Houston, and James Collier of Winnie; numerous great-grandchildren; and her brother, Johnny Baker of Warren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband James Benjamin Collier, Jr.; and her daughter Rita Bell.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with a funeral service being held at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held following at Beech Creek Cemetery in Spurger at 2:00 p.m.
