Maxwell D. Chelette, 88, of Groves passed away Saturday March 04, 2017 at Magnolia Manor in Groves. Maxwell was born on December 24, 1928 in DeRidder Louisiana to Daniel Thomas Chelette, Sr. and Elizabeth Bagwell Chelette. He was a resident of Groves for 63 years, a retired operator from Gulf Oil with 36 years of service and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served from 1951 to 1953. Maxwell was a member of Abundant Life Sanctuary in Groves. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 07, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jason Myer officiating at the Abundant Life Sanctuary in Groves under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Entombment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday March 06, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Maxwell is survived by his wife of 63 years Bessie Chelette of Groves, daughter Cathy Savoie and husband Kerry of Beaumont, son Charles Chelette and wife Becky of Groves, five grandchildren Jonathan, Catherine, Kelli, Danielle and Charleen and five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The Family would like to send a special thanks to the staff of Magnolia Manor for their loving care.
