Melba Doris Farris
Melba D. Farris, 95, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away on January 2, 2023, at her residence in Port Arthur.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Abundant Life Sanctuary in Groves.
Officiating will be Reverend Jason Myer. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 6, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Abundant Life Sanctuary in Groves.
Melba was born in Port Arthur, Texas, on October 16, 1927, she was the daughter of Curtis Oswald Peacock and Willie Greer-Peacock. She was married to Chester Farris for fifty years and was a faithful member of Abundant Life Sanctuary in Groves. After retiring from Mid Jefferson Hospital as a Nurse she worked at Walmart in Groves as a greeter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Farris, and her brother, Lowell Peacock.
She is survived by her daughter, Janell Farris of Port Arthur; her nephews, David, and Dennis Peacock; and her niece, Donna McCallum.
