Melba Theresa Harrison, 77, of Groves, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont.
She was born in Port Arthur on April 16, 1936 to the late Allen Benard and Corine Marie Guillot Loncon. Melba lived in the area her entire life, graduated in 1954 from Stephen F. Austin High School in Port Acres and attended St. Therese, The Little Flower of Jesus Church. She was employed in the insurance business in sales.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Therese, The Little Flower Catholic Church on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Rejimon George, C.M.I. officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
Melba is survived by her daughters, Lisa Corley and husband Dennis of Beaumont, Tricia Silva and husband Charles of Groves, Belinda Martin of Groves and Tammy Pratt of Groves; son James Pratt of Beaumont; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Melba is also survived by sisters L. V. Beardin of Port Acres, Carldine Schultz of Port Neches and Sharon Spalding of Port Neches.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul Harrison, daughter Janine Swafford and brother Calvin Loncon
