Melba Grace Sanderson, 81, of Nederland, TX passed away May 5, 2016. She was born January 2, 1935 in Call Junction, TX to the late Milton Benson and Crystal McMahon Benson.
Melba was a member of First Baptist Church Nederland. One of her favorite things was spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid Houston Astros Fan.
Melba is survived by her daughter, Donna McDonald and husband, Glenn of Nederland, TX; sons, Wes Sanderson and wife, Melonie of Leander, TX, Philip Sanderson and wife, Donna of Groves, TX; brother, Bill Benson and wife, Donna of Canada; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sanderson; son, Jeff Sanderson; daughter-in-law, Patty Sanderson; brothers Clyde, Wilber and Ronnie Benson.
A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, May 8, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, May 9, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home, with Rev. Jason Burden officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
