Melchor Herrera

Melchor "Mel" Herrera, 86, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012. Mel was born March 31, 1926 in Port Arthur, Texas to Alfred Herrera and Guadalupe Flores Herrera. He was a lifelong area resident and retired self-employed T.V. repairman. He was a U S Army World War II veteran. He was also a member of the Catholic faith and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leomar Herrera, and Jesse Herrera; sisters, Elodia Costanzo and Elda Perez. Survivors include his brother, Alfred Herrera and wife, Gayle of Groves, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside Military services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 5, 2012 at Calvary Cemetery with Reverend D. Stephen McCrate officiating. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m. Friday morning at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
