Melvin Ray Spittler

Melvin Ray Spittler, 86, of Nederland, passed away at his home on Friday, July 15, 2011. He was born on July 2, 1925, in Chesterville, TX to the late Raleigh Earnest Spittler and Pearl Minty McNett Spittler. Melvin proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Port Neches and was the former owner of Port Neches Dry Cleaners.Melvin is survived by his wife, Kathryn Spittler daughters Sandra Flanagan and husband Ronald of Friendswood, Janice SpittlerBaldwin and husband Leon of Lake Jackson and son David Spittler and wife Patricia of Nederland. He is also survived by four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Melvin is preceded in death by his son, Kenneth, two sisters and five brothers.A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at 6:00 pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Port Neches with Rev. Margaret Desmond officiating.The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 805 Sierra Dr., Port Neches, TX 77651.
