Meredith A. Baker, 86, of Port Neches, Texas left this life to be with her heavenly father on Friday, February 12, 2016. Meredith was born in Houston, Texas on May 10, 1929 to the late Alfred D. Kirkendal and Helen McGaughey Kirkendal.

Meredith spent 40 years of her life caring for others as a nurse. She loved animals, but especially dogs as well as cats. She was a devout and faithful Catholic and was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches.

Meredith is survived by her sister, Doris M. Nelson; son, Ben Rowley; daughter, Cilia Rowley; step-son, Reagan Baker; step-daughter, Becky Baker; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening, February 15, 2016 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. Meredith’s funeral service will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home on Tuesday morning, February 16, 2016 at 10:00am. Burial will follow the funeral service and will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
