Mertice Geneva Montgomery, 90, of Woodville, Texas died Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Dogwood Trails Manor in Woodville, Texas. Mertice was born September 21, 1920 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Robert Darnell and Beatrice Hutson Darnell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. Graveside service will be held Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Bluff Memorial Park with Rev. Ross Nichols officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Montgomery, son, Robert Neal Montgomery, brother, Chester Darnell and grandson, Bryan Simon. Surviving relatives include three daughters, Patricia Ann Monk of Woodville, Texas; Karen Fay Montgomery of Louisiana; Janice Elaine Montgomery of Woodville, Texas; son, Michael Dwayne Montgomery of Louisiana; sisters, Laverne Waller of Houston, Texas and Ava Cannon of Jasper, Texas; 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
